Jessica Altfillisch is a violist and violinist living and working in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In addition to her performing life, she is the Founder and Executive Director of Harmony School of Music and instructor of Viola and Arts Administration at Coe College.

Jessica is a doctoral candidate at the University of Iowa. In addition to her studies there, she served as violist for the graduate piano quartet and Center for New Music Ensemble. She has appeared as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral musician

in Moscow and St. Petersburg and all across the United States. In addition to solo recitals, she has performed regularly with the Des Moines Symphony, Orchestra Iowa, Waterloo/Cedar Fall Symphony, and Dubuque Symphony. Recently she has discovered a love for musical theater and performs regularly with Revival Theatre Company under the direction of Cameron Sullenberger. In the 2021-22 season she looks forward to recording with Durward and a solo album, as well as performing in multiple concerts around the country.

In addition to her work as a performer, Jessica is a trained Suzuki educator, Iowa licensed teacher, and has 20 years of teaching experience with all ages. She is a passionate advocate for music education for social change and has been a contributor to El Sistema USA and YOLA National Symposia.
